I fell for esthetics long before I could even pronounce the word. “You are saying, I have the opportunity to touch people’s faces, pour magic potions on them, while turning them into a state of relaxation, otherwise known as butter?!?”
I was captivated and never looked back.
Following some sisterly advice, I attended The University of Aesthetics in 2005. During school, I worked my tuckin’ tuckus off all over Chicago as a makeup artist and body painter for the artist cult Glam Live. MAC was hip to my keen eye and wild passion, bringing me on as a freelance makeup artist for three MAC stores. After graduating from The University of Aesthetics in 2006, I became an esthetician for an Aveda Salon & Spa. Focusing on facial rejuvenation and relaxation was second nature to me.
I became a waxstress at Trim in early 2007 where I would offer quick & painless brazilian waxings. My love affair for hair removal started here. Three years later my artistic voyage lead me to study sugaring aka the ancient art of hair removal, with the sugar specialists of Alexandria Professional.
The love to defuzz burns strong and always evolves into beautiful spaces n places, and this has lead me to Austin where I began Sassy Miss Waxy in 2010! Since January of 2011 I have been defuzzing the folks of this glorious city. Everyday I feel gratitude for the good people I meet! You may find me riding a bicycle/scooter, cruising the farmer’s market, playing in a garden or dancing down the street~ all while donning a fake mustache. I love cats (are you surprised?), plants, radical self love, presence, breathwork, DANCE, authentically relating with my fellow human friends and sustainable living!
